Sustainable textiles - 100 % Fairtrade and organic certified - since 1998
It is the process by which a textile operator such as a spinner, knitter, weaver, processor, garment manufacturer, trader, or exporter gets certified by an approved certification body to comply with the Global Organic Textile Standard.
GOTS is often called “registration”, but technically it is certification, not mere
registration.
GOTS registration is required for every operator in the supply chain, except
retailers selling to end consumers, including:
- Ginners
- Spinners
- Knitters / Weavers
- Fabric processors (dyeing, printing, finishing)
- Garment manufacturers
- Traders / exporters / importers
Once certified, the entity is authorized to:
- Handle organic fibres (e.g., organic cotton, wool)
- Use the GOTS logo and label (subject to approval)
- Sell products as GOTS-certified organic textiles in domestic and international
markets
